Training rural healthcare professionals to improve emergent obstetric and neonatal outcomes.

The Mississippi Center for Emergency Services created the STORK program through a grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation in an effort to improve the outcomes of pregnant women and newborns in rural hospitals. STORK stands for Stabilizing OB and Neonatal Patients, Training for OB/Neonatal Emergencies, Outcome Improvements, Resource Sharing, and Kind Care for Vulnerable Families. The goal is to teach healthcare professionals to recognize and manage obstetric and neonatal emergencies
while critical care transport teams are en-route.

By purchasing new high fidelity simulation equipment to replace or add to existing supplies, the STORK training can increase class sizes and continue to offer free trainings monthly across Mississippi.
